We all love a good loaf of bread, but sometimes it’s nice to spice things up a bit.

After Robert Didier from Wrexham, North Wales, made a Champagne-infused, gold-flaked loaf costing £75, it prompted us to think of a few more cost-effective ways to up your bread game.

Robert even admitted to The Daily Mail that, although ‘the champagne gives the bread a delicious taste, you don’t get much flavour from the gold flakes’.

5 WAYS TO MAKE BREAD MORE EXCTING
1 Add veggies
Olives are a classic addition to bread – our black olive focaccia is a delicious option.

Be aware of how the moisture from vegetables will affect your bake. Sundried tomatoes work better than fresh ones, for example.

2. Try nuts
If you want bread that needs nothing else with it, try adding nuts.

Our walnut bread is easy to make and comes with the added value of being extra-filling thanks to being high in protein.

3. Remember the power of salt and pepper
Adding sea salt, black pepper and olive oil to your bread will transform a simple crusty roll.

Soup will never taste the same.

4. Play with flavours
Don’t be afraid to get adventurous with flavours.

Our zucchini, lemon and parmesan bread is simple to bake and makes for an ideal packed lunch addition.

5. Make it sweet
The best thing about making a delicious sweet bread is that, if you manage to leave any behind, you can use it in a bread and butter pudding.

The gift that keeps on giving!
